Unfortunately (in this instance), I'm not an Eclipse user.

Instructions for creating APK files without using Eclipse can be found at:

1. Use top activity on task open

I have a task that involves a multi-activity process to get something
done, and so if the user hits HOME and then hits the task again, I'd
like to show the last screen they were on. Right now, if the task is
accessed through the history (home long-click) it restores to the
current top activity, but if the user clicks on the task again from
the app launcher, it creates a new copy of the "start" activity, but
the user can just hit BACK to get back to what they were doing. Can I
add an attribute to my application or something like that to make it
so that activating the task from the launcher will just show its
current top activity if it's already running?

2. native languages?

I did a lot of searching on this topic some months before the G1
release, and found a lot of people agreeing with me but nobody knowing
what was really going on... so, since it's the new year, I figured I'd
ask again - has/will there been any headway on getting other languages
(specifically c/c++ and ruby/python) to work natively on Android? I
understand all the reasons for using java atop of dalvik, but I don't
think any of them are sufficient for disallowing the developer & end-
user the freedom to run apps written in different languages. I know
the source code was (finally!) released shortly before the G1 launch,
so I'm assuming if Google isn't working on this, somebody else is? Any
word, or is there some place I should go to get info about this?

Cheers.
