Are there more countries where G1 is being sold?

Thanks

Which countries sell G1s?

Hi,

Frenchies will get it in a few days with a localized keyboard through
Orange, and the G2 on SFR (the french Vodafone)

(I asked if there will ever be a Dev version of the G1 with different
keyboard layouts on android-developers but my question doesn't
appear :-/ I'd be happy getting one, since it could be cheaper than
the contractless one here, and fully unlocked at the same time)

Cheers,

JB

Can anyone point me to a constantly updated list of carriers that sell
a phone with the Android OS?

If there's no such list, I'll maybe go ahead and create one..

Which countries sell G1s?

I received a mail from my Android Market account :

...
Please note that we have added selection options for Germany
and Austria in advance of priced apps becoming available in those
markets.
Details on when users in Germany and Austria can see priced apps will
be
forthcoming.

Also, I am pleased to let you know that free applications will become
available in France starting March 15th, when Orange launches the HTC
Dream. France will join the other countries where users currently can
download free applications: US, UK, Germany, Austria, Netherlands,
Czech
Republic, Poland, Australia, and Singapore. You can make your free
apps
available to French users by selecting "All Current and Future
Locations".
We will add the option to target France when we add the ability to
add
French language listings in the publisher website, which we expect to
be
complete by end of this month

1. Random animation order question

Hi,

I am trying to display a set of images in a grid layout in random
order, using something like this in anim
(similar to Api demos: LayoutAnimation4):

<layoutAnimation xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/
android"
        android:delay="0.5"
        android:animationOrder="random"
        android:animation="@anim/fade"
         />

It was noticed that the order is random but two images can be
displayed at almost same time

I was expecting images to be displayed *one by one* but at random
order.

Setting different android:delay has no effect.

Did anyone notice the same behavior with random animationOrder ? Is
there any anim parameters I am missing ?

Thanks in advance.

- Simon

2. Activity thread keeps restarting

So I have the body of my oncreate method something like this:

pd = ProgressDialog.show(this,

"Calculating...",
                                                                "Please be
patient. ",
                                                                true, false);
                                Thread thread = new Thread(this);
                                thread.start();

My activity also extends Runnable so here is the run method along with
the handler:

public void run() {
        Thread.sleep(25000L);
        // in real world some calculation call would go here
                handler.sendEmptyMessage(0);

        }

        private Handler handler = new Handler() {
                @Override
                public void handleMessage(Message msg) {

                        MyActivity.this.populateMainView();
                        pd.dismiss();
                }
        };

All of the above works great unless someone changes the screen
orientation while the calculation is running. If the orientation
changes the OnCreate method runs again. Additionally, if someone
changes the orientation _AFTER_ the run method has completed (and the
view has been populated), The onCreate Runs again and the values are
recreated even though the data has not changed. I want my method views
to reorient without affecting the state of my thread. What is the
right way to do this? I know there is a very basic concept of
activity lifecycle that I am missing, but I cannot find anything about
this anywhere.
