I am working on a widget project.

I use Service to update the widget. Some code shows here:

public static void updateView(RemoteViews views){
        for(int id:appWidgetIds){
                appWidgetManager.updateAppWidget(id, views);

1. Making the graphic layer transparent, for video playback

I'm porting Android to a board with hardware video decoding support.
The board hardware draws the video into a video layer beneath the
graphic layer. I've implemented a custom media player that passes the
calls to the hardware decoders, but I need to make Android's surfaces
transparent. Is there any way this is possible with the current
Android architecture? I'm using the Eclair version for MIPS
Thanks in advance,

2. deserialize byte[]

  I am trying to deserialize some byte[] data which the app receives
from server in android, but the data after deserialization isn't

  Below code works absolutely fine with BlackBerry, but I wonder why
it doesn't in android..!!!? AM I MISSING SOMETHING??? Any help on this
is highly appreciated..
String fiename;
String email;
byte[] byteImageData = null;

public void deserialize(byte[] array) throws IOException {
        System.out.println("begin DeSerializing UserAdInfo :");
        ByteArrayInputStream in = new ByteArrayInputStream(array);
        DataInputStream dIn = new DataInputStream(in);

       filename = dIn.readUTF();
       email = dIn.readUTF();

       byteImageData = new byte[dIn.available()];;

 If there is some sample source to support deserialzation in android
would be a great help..

Thanks in advance..
