Hello guys, I'm an android beginner developer.

I'm developing an application for Android, and I asked ... a widget
and an application are programmed the sam way?

I'd like to develop a widget that puts an image on your desktop, when
I touch the image, the keyboard should be visible on the display, to
digit the text.

 I need 2 information:

1) What Object I call if I want to see the keyboard on display?

2) What Object I call to capture the events of the display?

Thanks

2. Proximity Alerts keeps the GPS always on

Hi,
I noticed in the android source code there is a setMinTime() to be
implemented by LocationProviderImpl's(GPS etc). Currently the default
is zero(or 1000L) which means it will check for location updates
frequently, except when the screen is off.

Why is this interface not opened up so that applications that want
less frequent updates can set the minimum time in the LocationProvider
interface ? As of SDK 1 release 2 , there is no way of changing this.

The battery drains very fast , is there a better way to handle this
through the same LM.addProximityAlert method.

Thanks
Chander
