ADP1 not listed in ubuntu by adb

 Hello Android,

We have purchased a ADP1 phone and we want to flash cupcake image onto
it. We are using Ubuntu hardy 8.04.1 host.

We referred the instructions provided in

 I was able to get my ADP1 to talk to me by enabling debugging mode on
the phone itself (settings->applications).

You may also have to run adb as root.

1. on search button click in a tab, open a new tabview dynamically consisting mapview locating the location .

i am working on a tabhost based application.i want initially only a
single tabview consisting of a edittext box and a search button, in
edittext box user enters a city or location to be search.As soon as
user click the search button a new tab got  opened with the mapview
locating the location.I have coded this application without tabs, but
how to do this in tabs.
i can share my code if anybody needed it.

I'm going through the ApiDemos in Android 2.2 and I can't get the
SaveRestoreState example to do what the doc at the  top is telling me
it should do.  I edit both text fields, hit the back button, then go
back to SaveRestoreState, and the text fields are both reset (not just
the top one).  If I switch to an entirely different app, then go back,
then both text fields are SAVED.

So, from what I can see, both EditText objects are acting the same,
even though only the top one has an id assigned to it.
