Can some one please let me know how to simulate SIM in the Emulator?

I've seen the below information (* A GSM modem, including a simulated
SIM Card) @ #telephony:

    >>Adding custom capabilities to the underlying QEMU services, the
Android emulator supports many hardware
    >>features likely to be found on mobile devices, including:

        >>* An ARMv5 CPU and the corresponding memory-management unit
        >>* A 16-bit LCD display
        >>* One or more keyboards (a Qwerty-based keyboard and
associated Dpad/Phone buttons)
        >>* A sound chip with output and input capabilities
        >>* Flash memory partitions (emulated through disk image files
on the development machine)
        >>* A GSM modem, including a simulated SIM Card

But, could not get any details to do the same.

Can some one please help to get the details?

Thanks in advance

have a look at android/external/qemu/telephony/sim_card.c in the open-source

this is the current implementation of the SIM Card. As you can see, it's
pretty static at
the moment. Feel free to patch it to your liking.

How to Simulate the SIM in the emulator

 Hi, David Turner,

Thanks a lot for the information.

But, currently I do not have the source code. I've the SDK set up on the
Windows PC. I need to simulate the SIM on the emulator to check how to copy
contacts from SIM to phone from a new application.

Can you please suggest how to simulate the SIM on the emulator?

well, I'm sorry but the current SDK's implementation doesn't support this
(though there is already a bug filed for it).

Has there been any updates to this?

I too am anxiously waiting for the ability to simulate the SIM card in
order to gain access to the contacts information.

1. Extend

For observing GPIO interrupts i want to create an observer class which
should be a subclass of which finds in frameworks/
base/core/java/android/os. The problem is, that this class is not
contained in the standard SDK android.jar. Does anybody have got an
idea how to extend from this class?
Thanks a lot!

2. How to automount SD card

I am working on a platform where I need to provide an option to share
the SD card with the connected host. Although I could use the sysfs
lun0/file to achieve what I need, this file ( /sys/devices/.../gadget/
lun0/file) is owned by the root and so is not accessible from my
Android app.

I looked into the vold and it has commands to share/mount/unmount
etc., I am not sure how to make use of them.

Anybody with better insight can enlighten me ???

Thank you,
