I have an application on the market.
If I upload an update, does it show on the new content section?

If no, why I am seeing other apps with versions like 1.3.3 showing on
the new content with no rating?
Did the remove the app and put it back again?

1. Sporadic SharedPreferences reset

I'm making use of SharedPreferences in my application. One part is a
PreferenceActivity and the other part is a backend that accesses the
preferences using PreferenceManager.getDefaultSharedPreferences(...).
Both parts are running in the same process, but potentially in
different threads.

Now, from time to time, I encounter a reset of all the preferences. It
looks to me like this happens when my process is killed (e.g. when
installing a new version or starting the activity or service the first
time after a long time). However, it is not reproducible by killing
the process manually and it does not happen consistently.

Are there other people who have the same problem? Is there a race
condition that could lead to something like this?

2. Compiling G1 firmware from source and then re-flashing G1

This question would be better suited for the android-platform mailing
list, since it's related to working with the android source tree, not
to working with the official SDK.

You don't need to build an Boot our device into the
bootloader (hold the back key while powering up), and run the fastboot
tool (check specifically the flashall command and the -w option).
