1. Buggy screen. is this normal for these screens

I am new to this smart phone thing and droid is my first.....love it,
I must say.

Has anyone found the screen to act "buggy"? Ie,,,the screen doesn't
always "turn on" when I shift positions on a call. For instance when I
want to end a call and I pull the phone away from my ear to "end the
call, the screen sometimes will not be on, and I have to manually
slide the screen up a bit for the screen to be on.

I have found this behavior that requires the screen to light up or
darken, depending on it's use, to be buggy and it won't do what it's
supposed to do. Originally I thought the phone was dying until I
recognized it's pattern of behavior. The phone also acts funny hen I
try talking while lying down or in any position other than an upright
position.

Which has all led me to believe that whatever the droid uses to
recognize it's position, is all that perfect. This blinking/not
lighting up has happened about every other day.

Is this something I should expect from these types of phones or should
I trade this droid in for another??? On a side,,,is there any way to
make the phone's screen "always ON", so that hopefully it will
alleviate this quirky bug?

thx all...other than that, this phone rocks

2. Use WebView to evaluate a javascript string and return the value

Given that scripting is not natively supported in Android and wrapping
libraries like javax.script.ScriptEngine into your app will make it
too large, is it possible to send a javascript string to an invisible
WebView and have it evaluate the string and return you the results
(another string)?

I want to go this route because I want to save all my scripts to disk
so my app can remain small.
