rite your code such that it either cleans up those static variables
or re-uses them if they've already been initialized.

There are going to be many combinations of the lifecycle of your
activity that will be similar to what you're seeing (e.g. your app
going in the background, the phone getting locked, the orientation
changing), and you'll need to deal with the problem at its root.
You're attacking a symptom without attacking the root cause.

1. Error on Http Video Streaming: Prepare Fail

Did anyone try API demos on the SDK?

I have a problem with playing http stream video on the emulator. I use
the MediaPlayerDemo_Video class in "android-sdk-windows-1.1_r1\samples
\ApiDemos\src\com\example\android\apis\media"

I change the path to some http://foo.com/bar.3gp but all I get is
Prepare failed: status=0xffffffff which does not mean anyhing for me.

Since I am just using the example provided by the SDK itself, I count
the code as a correct one.

But 2 questions:

1- Does the emulator can play video?
2- If it does which extensions and are there any other restrictions

Any comment or suggestion appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
fortold

2. About Android SDK translation work

Hi all , I'm not sure whether it's a right place for discussing such
topic , so forgive me if I am wrong

I'm now translating Android SDK 1.1 r1 documentation into Chinese ,
and I'm wonder that how to make it convenient to upgrade
my translation files when the sdk and its documentation version
updated in the future.

You know that the sdk documentation is published in html format , and
it's really unfriendly to i18n work. Still I didn't find a convenient
way
to do so and I'm now translating HTML source files(thanks to god i
understand html).

Any guys here doing the translation work as I do and met the same problem ?
Share me your experience and ideas or suggestions , I'll really approciate :)
