Hello, I would like to know how can I import songs from a web service
into Android library without having to download the file into sdcard.
I have all the data from the web service but I do not know how to
integrate the tracks into Android database. My idea is not to have to
download the files, but playing them on streaming using the music
player. Do I need to download the tracks to the sd card and then
Android does all the stuff?

Thanks in advance

1. Field Test App - How does it get its data?

Hi All,

I am interested in finding out how the field test app gets hold of its
information, i have the android source, but the field test app does
not appear to part of it ( If i'm being blind, please guide me ;-) ).

Does anyone know how to get access to the sort of information that
field test app displays ( ARFCN, cell selection parameters, periodic
location update time etc etc...)

I see there is an API in the pipeline for the ( issue 700 ) though
there must currently be a way of doing it if the Field Test App can.

Hope someone has some info on this,

Cheers,

Liam.

No, there is no "pause" with services.

That certainly is a possibility, perhaps using a PhoneStateListener.

I have not written a music-playing service, or any form of background
audio. It is possible that such playback is automatically muted by the
system, via some sort of audio stream prioritization.
