With built in browser (SDK v1.0r1), I downloaded an APK (signed), when
clicking on it, I see the following dialog:
"Install blocked
For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications
not sourced in Android Market.
Settings Cancel"

I click on Settings -> crash

"Sorry !
The application Package Installer (process has stopped unexpectedly. Please try
Force close"

I always have this crash.

I guess we have no choice but to wait for a T-Mobile G1 phone before
testing a "auto-upgrade" feature for our application.
Looked at your site , it sounds great and may
help for our needs in a near future.

1. android.pim.vcard

Hi folks,

I am just starting to learn android, and so far my first impression was not
too good.

Why the package android.pim.vcard is not made public? There are also a lot
of other packages and useful methods not in public API. You can call the
hidden APIs in the actual device, but you can't compile it in the first
place because they are not available in the SDK. Is there any hack to enable
the hidden API in the SDK (like patching the .jar)?
It seems that Google does not promote library reuse much. It should not be
too hard to maintain the public APIs for vcard functionality.

2. Getting internet from PC via USB

There is no support for this in the Android SDK, sorry.
