 Ive been through all the books I purchased on android and the sdk and
I just dont get it. can anyone tell me how I can set an mp3 file that
is in the raw folder of my app as a ringtone?

 I just finished re reading #setActualDefaultRingtoneUri(android.content.Context,%20int,
and i still don't get it. am I missing something?

 You will first have to copy it to the ringtones folder in your SD  
Card. Once that is done, you can use the uri of this ringtone to set  
it as the user's ringtone. Thats how Ringdroid does it. You can check  
out the ringdroid source here
