 Hi,

When I click the home screen, android pops up a 'selection dialog' (i
am not sure what is the technical term) to ask me to add 'Widget',
'Shortcut', 'Folder', etc. etc.
Can you please tell me how to pop up those kind of selection dialog?
Where can I find example for that?

Thank you.

I've used the AlertDialog for doing that kind of thing, you can pass a
String array to the setItems() method for your options.

Yes.

According to the source code (http://source.android.com/download), the
section 4 of this document is used to calculate the distance:

Good luck.
