 hi all,
I can find that build.prop in the direction product/generic/system/
build, and there are some items like ro.build.id=TC3 etc. I want to
add my modification here but i see there is a note says
"#autogenerated by buildinfo.sh". So I wonder where can I modify the
string ro.kernel.android.gps refer to ?

"ro" stands for read-only. Those can't be modified.

modify it to comply to my code. Can any one tell me? I saw this in the
file build.prop, but it also says #autogenerated by buildinfo.sh. So i
wonder where is the proper place i can modify it?

1. Querying the contacts content provider for values with accent

I'm trying to search contacts in addressbook with the 1.5 API :

c = managedQuery(People.CONTENT_URI, new String[] { People._ID,
People.NAME }, People.NAME+" LIKE ?", new String[] { "%"+filter+"%" },

Where filter is a String.

When I search for "fred" I find :

Frederic A

When I search for "frd" I find :

Frdric B

How can I make my search to find with "fred" :

Frederic A
Frdric B

Just like typing in the Contacts app.

2. ArrayList items are missing

At the moment, I have two Activities (Activity A and B). At the
Activity A I customize a button and pass it on Activity B via an
intent. On Activity B I move the button somewhere on the screen. This
will be done with other buttons. So I want to save some attributes of
a button like height, width and alignment.

I tried to save them in an ArrayList but everytime I access the
ArrayList after changing back from Activity B to Activity A to create
a second button, the ArrayList is empty.

How could I achieve the ArrayList isn't loosing it's items ?
I think the worst idea is, to make an Intent with that ArrayList
sending it to Activity A.The List is getting bigger and bigger and I
start to loose performance.

Any suggestion how this can be solved ?

I would be deeply grateful and thanks in advance !
