IMEI Request

 Hi Folks, I have a question about the IMEI of my ADP. I recently purchased
some software (a German-English dictionary) for my phone, for which they
sent me a key. The key doesn't work and have I contacted their support
department who asked for my IMEI number.
Now, once again forgive me if I'm asking a stupid question, but I was under
the impression that a) the IMEI should be kept relatively private, and b)
ties something to the handset and not the subscriber.

Does this make sense? Should I send it to them?

Kind Regards,

 depending on the license model they are using, asking for the IMEI
makes perfectly sense.
might be per-device license.

1. Hi, all. How to read JSON format from server?

Hi, all. I'm new to Android.
Right now I'm trying to read response from server, which uses JSON
format to send my register information, for instance, username,
register_id which is produced by the server, and the connection
message.

Is there any advice cause I'm really confused by this task.

Thanks.
Best.

2. How to make a Service auto-start when system boot up?

Hi,

I have defined a BroadcastReceiver* -- *StartupIntentReceiver, as follows:

*public class StartupIntentReceiver extends BroadcastReceiver {*
* private static final String ACTION =
"android.intent.action.BOOT_COMPLETED";*
*
*
* @Override*
* public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) {*
* if (intent.getAction().equals(ACTION)) {*
* Intent service = new Intent(context, MyService.class);*
* context.startService(service);*
* } *
* }*
*}*

I also added the receiver and required permission to AndroidManifest.xml:
*      <receiver android:name="com.test.StartupIntentReceiver">*
*            <intent-filter>*
*                <action
android:name="android.intent.action.BOOT_COMPLETED"></action>*
*            </intent-filter>*
*        </receiver>*
*<uses-permission
android:name="android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED"></uses-permission>*
*
*
But it seems that the defined Service (MyService) does not run when the
system boot up. Any ideas on how to make Service auto-start when system boot
up?
