 Dear all,

Recently, I set out to develop some tools I want. But I
got stuck in the mechanism of Intent. I would like to make it possible
to start an activity with the constructor having the parameters by
Intent class, but I don't know how to set or use the method of the
Intent to achieve this. Could anyone give me some suggestions or
information about this?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

1. Gadget Show UK (Apple fanboys??)

Sometimes the Gadget Show (UK TV Show) really annoys me.

Group test tonight of smart phones: G1, iPhone, Blackberry Storm and
another HTC Touch HD

First test was taking a photo, we all know that the G1 does not have
the best camera but it is better than the iPhone. Anyway after first
test G1 is ruled out of the race!!! Why, no standard head phone
socket, no video and not easy to open word documents, so not a good
business phone or a media phone :-(

Next test was "Ease of use" typing an email, as the rest only have
virtual keyboards I would say they were all going to be slow. HTC 51
seconds, iPhone 57 seconds and STORM 1 min 26 seconds. I'm sure had
the G1 been in that test it would have been a lot quicker, would be
interesting to find out how much quicker.

So STORM ruled out.

Last test battery life, this no doubt would have seen the G1 kicked
out as we all know it is pretty poor. Anyway HTC lasted 30 mins
longer than iPhone.

So the HTC ruled the winner, and onto the ratings (they measure them
in Gs from 0 to 5)

G1 3 Gs
surprise surprise
iPhone and HTC both get 4 Gs

Still can't work it out

2. Is Android and adsense a valid business model?

There has been some discussion in this forum on possible business
models for Android applications and whether displaying adsense ads via
your applications would be an example for one.

Just wanted to share my experience with this.

What did I do?
I developed an Android application and published it for free download
on the Android Marketplace. When the application starts, it opens a
Webview that displays a web-page I designed. The Web-Page welcomes the
user to the application, informs about further Android applications I
am developing - and displays a Google adsense blog.

What happened?
It worked great! The application was downloaded several thousand
times, received good ratings, and I got a solid click through rate on
the adsense ads.

Why is this negative?
It lasted exactly six days. Then Google deactivated my adsense account
as it - according to Google - poses a risk to their advertisers. No
information what this risk consists in and how Google came to this

Google offers a possibility to appeal against accounts being blocked.
I did so, but never received a response.

Anyone here who made similar experiences?
