I believe that you are missing X11 developement package. On Debian (and
Ubuntu probably) it's called libx11-dev.
Have a look at http://s.android.com/source/initializing.html for list of all
packages that are needed to build AOSP

1. build crespo kernel from android.git.kernel.org sources

Hello,

I am confused about the purpose of kernel/samsung.git

My assumption was that this was the samsung kernel tree to build the
Android kernels for the devices in the standard GIT repository.
However I can not find a crespo_defconfig file in this kernel tree.
The only kernel configuration in this project that appears to properly
configured for Android an herring_defconfig.

Is this Samsung kernel project a complete Android implementation?

Where can I find sample kernel configurations that can be used with
Gingerbread>

TIA

2. Why is RemoteViews.setDrawableParameters(...) hidden?

Hey,

I'm working on a custom notification where I intent to use a Layer /
List Drawable to switch my icons between black and white.
(Because some phones have light-gray notification bars and some have
black ones I want the user to be able to choose a light or a dark
layout.)

Now I came to see, that the android RemoteViews class contains a
method:
setDrawableParameters(int viewId, boolean targetBackground, int alpha,
int colorFilter, PorterDuff.Mode mode, int level)
which would be gorges to use (Also for setting alpha in desktop
widgets). But sadly it is hidden from the public API which is not
understandable for me.

Does anyone know why we don't get to use this killer method?

And.. can anyone tell me how to best implement the 2 Layouts/Themes
(Dark / Light) for the Notification Bar I need?

Thanks a lot,

Greetings David
