ot sure if this is meaningful statistics ....

I have received 1 person reporting that my app doesn't work after updating.
He tried uninstalling and reinstalling and the app still doesn't work.

This is 1 out of about 10,000 people who downloaded my app. I have pushed
about 15 updates in 8 weeks so I assumed there have been at least 10,000
attempts of updating.

To me, 0.01% is certainly not widespread. But again, if Google could fix
this I certainly wouldn't mind :-)

Mark, zealots would not even ask themselves whether Google could have a bug.
They believe it's not possible, hence why I coin them "zealots".
I don't think of you as a zealot :) In fact Incognito's comment is
almost exactly what I'd say if he didn't post first.
I very much enjoyed the raised hands metaphor :)

Cheers

hanks Mariano. I will add that to the "help page" of my app (when such a
page is finally created on a bright sunny day :-)

Other Threads

1. Regarding Activity

Hi, I'm working on a program which basically plays a video file and
has some more functionality.
What I expect from this program is:
when I start playing a video, the program starts a new service and
registers a notification.
I click the home button and still the video is running so I can hear
the sound, but the program doesn't have focus any more( no more video
animation). Now I drag down the notification list and click the
notification message, then the currently running program will pop up
and now I can see the video again.

What I want to ask is how to come back to the program when I click the
notification message? I've been looking into the website and this
group, but I couldn't find any clue. Please help!

Oh, and one more question:
is it possible to put more than 2 activities on the same screen? if it
is, is there any reference for that?

Million thanks in advance! =D

2. Usage of Permission.CLEAR_APP_CACHE?

I see the permission "CLEAR_APP_CACHE" but I can not find how we can
use this permission. In looking at the packageInstaller code, it uses
"freeApplicationCache()" from PackManager, which doesn't seem to be
available in the public SDK. Does the current SDK support using
"CLEAR_APP_CACHE" permission? Is the PackInstaller using some hidden
sdk calls that aren't available for general usage?

Thanks.
