yes, use getProjection() method of your MapView.

1. Need Info on Porting Android

Hi All,

Our ARM based embedded platform runs on linux-2.6.31 kernel version.
We want to port android on top of it. We first want to boot the board
with Android and then proceed with application development.

After going though the android related websites the following is my
understanding and please correct me if I am wrong.

1. Download Android kernel patch against the linux version.
2. Apply the patch and compile the kernel.
3. Boot the system.

Please let me know if I miss anything.

Thanks

2. The proper way to set a timer in android

Hi,

What is the proper way to set a timer in android in order to kick off a task
(a function that I create which does not change the UI)?
Use this the Java way:
http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/util/Timer.html

Or there is a better way in android (android's handler)?

Thank you.
