Other than DroidDraw, are there any tools that can help with Android
GUI design? Are there any official tools planned, or web sites that
cater to this?

It seems that it should be easy enough to put together a visual tool
to do UIs, but I can't seem to find one.. and of course, while
starting out, and not aware of all of the properties available,
designing a "stunning" UI is less than easy.

Thanks in advance,
Alex T.

You mean besides the official tools for Eclipse?

1. Is it possible to update a widget from an Activity?

Hello all,

I have been looking for a way to update a widget asynchronously, for
example, when the phone receives a text message. I have a broadcast
receiver set up with code that runs upon receiving a message. I also
have an AppWidgetProvider that is set up and running. It seems like
the *only* way a widget can be updated is upon its interval, or when
the user interacts with it.

Is there any way to update a widget upon a system event?

2. Don't Stop CyanogenMod!

Google,

We love you as a company and love the Android platform. It is only
made better when it is enhanced by people like Cyanogen who use the
open nature of the platform to further it and attracts many more
people to it, as a result.

I am one of the people who was attracted towards Android not for the
official rom, but because of the open nature of Android and that I
could use a custom rom on it.

Someone who has put in so much hard work on the platform should not be
told to cease and desist, but commended and encouraged to continue to
work better.

Don't become Apple!

The 30,000 users of CyanogenMod and many more Android users will thank
you for it.

Remember, "Don't be Evil!"
