 My company is planning to move to a new Digi ConnectCore (arm9)
processor module with embedded Linux, and we are lloking into
different options for graphics/UI. Would it be feasible to port the
graphics/UI stack only?

1. Can a full app (not widget) be postage stamp size?

Congratulations, James.

Note: you can merge the broadcast receiver with your AppWidgetProvider, same one that handles APPWIDGET_UPDATE. -- Kostya 08.06.2010 15:18, cellurl :
I got it working. I tossed my version and started with a copy of ApiDemos, adding code below. One interesting observation: ApiDemos.apk actually contains three things. Widget: Shortcut: App: The shortcut and app point to different starting points ;-) Thanks all for holding my hand. jp public class ExampleBroadcastReceiver extends BroadcastReceiver { @Override public void onReceive(Context context, Intent intent) { String action = intent.getAction(); if (action.equals("org.jamesp.gpscruise.UpdateWidgetAction")) ... public class StatusBarNotifications extends Activity { @Override protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); //Uri uri = Uri.parse("55"); //Intent intent = new Intent("org.jamesp.gpscruise.UpdateWidgetAction", uri); Intent intent = new Intent("org.jamesp.gpscruise.UpdateWidgetAction"); sendBroadcast(intent); <receiver android:name=".appwidget.ExampleBroadcastReceiver" android:enabled="true"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="org.jamesp.gpscruise.UpdateWidgetAction" /> </intent-filter> </receiver> ----------------

2. Does specifying 2.2 exclude any devices?

Hi all. On my app I recently went from:

<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="3" android:targetSdkVersion="7" />
using an Eclipse build target of 1.6

to:

<uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="3" android:targetSdkVersion="8" />
using an Eclipse build target of 2.2

...this was to take advantage of 2.2 features, like the SD Card
installation option.

I wonder if specifying this could have caused restrictions for some
devices? As there has been a marked drop in usage stats since I made
this release.
