I'm curious... what is displayed and visible when the phone screen is
locked? Is it simply a black screen with the small window that shows
the time and charging state?

If a new email comes in or if there's an appointment reminder
notification, do they appear somewhere on the screen if the screen is
locked?

Thanks.

Any new notifications are displayed as icons in the notification bar
at the top of the screen. This bar is visible even when the phone is
locked.
