 Hi friends,

Currently, I am using the 1.0 android sdk (android-sdk-
windows-1.0_r2).

Now I want to move to new sdk 1.5.

I have done the following steps to install the new sdk.

1. downloaded the android-sdk-windows-1.5_pre.zip

2. unzip and ran the following command: emulator -wipe-data

3. Updated PATH variable.

4. Since I am currently using 1.0 sdk, I just tried to change the
Update Eclipse SDK Preferences
when I tried to update the Eclipse preferences, I got the error:

               "Could not find E:\android-sdk-windows-1.5_pre
\android.jar!"

5. what should I do now? what wrong I am doing.

Can any one please suggest me to solve this issue.

Thanks,
Manoj.

The preview plugin is no longer available. The update site contains
the new final 1.5 plugin. Can you try using the update site?

Note: some people, like me, had to remove the update site URL and put
it back for it to work.

You should probably grab the final SDK from
 http://developer.android.com/sdk/1.5_r1/index.html too.

R/

1. Downloading apk to Nexus One from local webserver

When developing for the G1 I set up a local apache site to serve APK's
and pointed the G1 browser to it. The server is on my local P and the
G1 connects via Wifi on its direct IP. The mime types was set up, and
the G1 downloads and installs them fine - these are all signed with
the public key. When I try this with the N1 browser it sees the site
fine but at the point at which the download starts it hangs - I just
see "Waiting for data connection" in the browsers download page. It
does this with the same APK the G1 downloads and installs fine with -
anyone know whats wrong here please?

2. Is it possible direct users to a settings screen?

If one had an application that needed to know its location, and the
location sensors were disabled,
is it possible to encourage a user to re-enable and then give them a
click-through to an android settings screen?

Thanks,
