1.5 SDK problem with WebView.getZoomControls()

 I have webview whose zoom controls are placed into a linearlayout at
the bottom of the screen.

It's been working fine on 1.1 but testing on the new 1.5 beta SDK
shows that the zoom controls are scrunched.
They still work, just the layout is bad (buttons overlapping).

I have code similar to what's been posted here:

ViewGroup zoom=(ViewGroup)findViewById(R.id.zoom);
zoom.addView(_webView.getZoomControls());

The layout is also similar to what's been posted here:

<RelativeLayout ...>
   <WebView.../>
        <LinearLayout android:id="@+id/zoom"
                android:layout_width="wrap_content"
                android:layout_height="wrap_content"
                android:layout_alignParentBottom="true"
                android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" />
</RelativeLayout>

thanks,
rob

I'm seeing that getZoomControls() is deprecated. Does anyone know the
alternative?

 Should be: WebView.getSettings().setBuiltInZoomControls(true);

1. PreferenceActivity - Multiple preferences

Is it possible to use the PreferenceActivity and PreferenceScreen to
manage multiple instances of preferences fro a single app? It seems
that they store preferences as "default" preferences only.

I would like to use a PreferenceScreen as my configure activity for an
AppWidget, but I need to be able to store distinct preferences for
each widget.

2. best way to set up a timer for a game

Hi,
I'm looking for the best way to setup a timer for a game. For example
I want the timer to tick down, but I want to be able to add to the
timer when certain levels are reached etc. I'm just looking for the
most efficient way to accomplish this. it only needs to be every
second or so.
If anyone has any insight on this , it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Albert
