I would like to get previous version of Android source code (not
cupcake), is it possible to pull it out from repository?

 Thank you Jean,

I tried to get the files to build android for eee PC, but it doesn't
seem to have eee PC in the tree.
I received the following error while syncing:

1. OpenGL Troubles on the G1

I just got my G1 yesterday and it's an AMAZING device!! I am having a
bit of trouble with it though. I have written a little OpenGL test
app that runs fine in the emulator, but just shows a black screen on
the G1. I can choose to run on the emulator or the G1 from eclipse
and just by switching the output I can show that the code works on the
Emulator and not the G1. Is there anything else (i.e. permissions,
etc,) that I need to have it run on the G1?

2. where do control id's get defined.

I know that strings should be stored in res/strings.xml but where do i
store control names(ID's)?

In this example the name of the id variable(im guessing that's what
it's called) is list_item_title. Where would i define that value?

Also is this the only way to name controls? in most other languages
that I have used you ussually just set id="somestringvalue".
