I recovered. However I found that even I update the files in drawable,
R.java doesn't updated. Have you found the same problem?

I use eclipse and have never had this issue. Maybe you need to enable the
Build Automatically option.

If delete R.java, how how can recover it?

I had this happen to me last night. I was trying to use an "@string/"
value for an android:name in an action in an intent filter, but it
wasn't working (it would for other fields, just not android:name). So I
tried cleaning the build, which deleted my R.java. I had auto building
on, so I was very surprised it when it didn't come back.

I tried repeatedly to fix it by cleaning, making changes, saving,
manually invoking build, turning auto building on and off, etc. Nothing
worked, and my R.java didn't regenerate.

Finally, I realized that my manifest still wasn't compiling, so I fixed
that; suddenly, R.java regenerated and everything was fine.

So make sure your manifest file has no errors, because this will inhibit
the generation of R.java.

cheers,

 No one answered this question.

Build Automatically is checked in Eclipse. Still doesn't regenerate
R.java. (Ganymede).

Also, whenit existed, I made a change to main.xml, r.java was NOT
regenerated.

There is nothing whatsoever wrong with my manifest file. The app ran
perfectly before I dared to alter the XML.

This is flakey beyond belief.

The only reason R.java would not be generated is if there are errors
in your XML resources.

Check the Console view in Eclipse (make sure to switch to Android, as
the plugin creates 2 consoles: DDMS and Android) to see if there is
any output.
Also check the Problems view and/or the Package Explorer for errors.

If you build the app through ant rather than the eclipse UI does it
recreate R.java?

Well I know it is supposed to!

I was hoping that if he tried building
thru ant it would fix the problem he's having.

2. Receive notification for onDestroy, onStop, and onPause etc in other applications?

Hi,

Is there a way to programmatically receive notification onDestroy,
onStop, and onPause etc in other applications on the phone?

I see there's a READ_LOGS permission and guess this might be achieved
by reading the system log. But I couldn't find anything to access the
system logs.

Thanks and Happy New Year!
