My phone just arrived today. I haven't tried calling Verizon yet to
activate it. But I found it confusing that the 2 page from Google
that came with the phone say "Please refer to the enclosed "Read Me
First" leaflet from Verizon Wireless for instructions to activate the
enclosed Droid." There was no "Read Me First" leaflet from Verizon in
my package.

So far Neel at Google hasn't been able to tell me how to resolve this issue.

To say the least I'm annoyed.

1. Background resource doesnt scroll when viewgroup is scrolled

I have a custom ViewGroup that has chilren views. I set the
background of that view to a png image by calling setBackgroundResource
(id). This view is larger than the screen size. On touch events (move)
I want to scroll the view to show the rest of the view. I got the
scrolling to work however, the problem is that the children views
scroll but the background image doesnt. Is that the expected
behaviour? Is there a way to get the background resource to scroll as

Or is it that I need to add an image to the viewgroup (that spans the
entire view to form the background) and have that as the background
and scroll that image along with all the children view?

2. Changing General UI

Hi im a complete newbie to Linux/Java programming. I simply want to
change the look and feel of the UI from the SDK. I assumed the SDK
included the whole Android UI since it runs the emulator, so i went
searching through the files and found some PNG image files from the UI
in tools>lib>res>default>drawable. I thought if i edited these images
it would change the look of the UI, but when i restarted the emulator
nothing had changed. Am I dumb or is there something I am doing wrong.
Thanks c.f.
