1. Process.setThreadPriority() & high priorities

I believe at the time the doc was written, the intention was to limit
priorities, but this was never done. The priorities you mention (urgent
display and audio) are NOT for use by applications, except in very special
cases (audio can make sense for time-critical audio processing code that can
provide strong guarantees about the amount of CPU it will take per time

Please don't use these for regular applications. If they start getting
abused and impacting the overall system, we will need to do something in the
future to restrict what apps can do. :}

2. MediaPlayer and memory buffers.

I have looked at the documentation for MediaPlayer and it doesn't seem
to do what I need. I need to be able to feed a personalized stream to
the media player. For example, I have an AAC stream that has some
header information in it, so I can't simply feed the HTTP URL to the
media player because it will choked on the header information.

What I would like to be able to do is feed it a stream of data, and I
provide the parsing of the header, and feed it straight raw AAC data,
tell the media player that's the format and have it play it
(preferably with an existing decoder).

Is that possible and I'm just missing it?

Do I need to write a native (C code) decoder create my own specialized

Thanks in advance,
