Is there a recommended method for app updates?

 Hi all,

I heard from some users that they need to check the Market updates. My
question is if there is standard, or recommended way of checking for app
updates? My impression is that Android would greatly benefit if all apps
used the same API to do this.

Cheers,
Filipe

1. Autocomplete values populated via web service

Hi,

I'd like to create an autocomplete text field with values populated
based on the content I get back from a URL (i.e. the URL returns a
JSON feed). The full list of possible values is massive, so the idea
is to rebuild the list of suggested values on each keystroke. Any
advice or pointers on how this could be done?

Thanks

2. Data storage, which data type?

Hi all.

I want to store location data in sqlite. A latitude coordinate is a
double, with 15 point precision. As far as I can tell this corresponds
with the 'REAL' datatype which is 8 bytes. The alternative I suppose
would be to store it as a String, and simply convert it back into a
double later.

Does it make any odds which way I go? Are there differences in storage
capacity / efficiency?
