 Hello,

I'm new to android dev. I would like to make a game.

I'm looking for a 2D game framework that handles all the opengl stuff,
is such a thing existing ?

I heard that submitting a game to the android market is not open to
all countries, is that true ? I'm living in France is there a turn
around to submit an appl to the market ?

Thanks

2D and OpenGL? You know that OpenGL is mainly for 3D?!

Thats right. I don't know which countries have the permissions, but I
guess France is one of them.

Your welcome!

I don't know of any frameworks as of yet -- you might try pinging
Chris Pruett to see if he's releasing his side-scrolling opengl game
any time soon (check out his Google IO talk on real time game
development for Android). Also look at his sprite method test, which
covers the typical methods of drawing 2D sprites on the screen.

Other Threads

1. Non-parallel construction of DatePicker and TimePicker

Well there is no functionality missing in the way it was implemented
but it IS ugly. And it cost me a couple hours of head scratching and
digging to figure out how to set up a DatePicker after having
successfully set up a TimePicker using setOnTimeChangedListener. As to
making the change myself, I 't have no experience submitting patches
and don't know what it means to star an issue. And since I have
working code I will probably do what everyone else has done and forget
about it. But maybe in the interest of design consistency and
aesthetics, Google will dedicate the 15 minutes it would take to
implement DatePicker.setOnDateChangedListener(...). They do have a
well-tested model to work from, after all.
