It seems ImageView does not have the zooming and scrolling function. I
could be wrong. If it does have these feature, could anyone give an
example? If it does not, I would like to create my own by extending
the ImageView. Does anyone know if the android.jar is open-sourced or
not. If yes, where can I get the souce code without going through
those projects repositories.

thanks.

1. How to handle a "long press" on a mapview/map overlay

Hi,

I want to be able to handle "long taps" on a mapview (or, preferrably,
a map overlay), like LongClick events. tap events are handled by these
classes, but I found no way to differentiate regular taps from long
taps.

I can probably implement this in the onTouchEvent method - but I don't
want to reinvent the wheel if there's already a way to do this. Any
ideas?

Thanks!

2. Help with saving data.

Hi all,

First of all I'm new to both java and android, so please excuse me if
I'm asking foolish questions.

I have created an app, and am looking to save some data to either a
raw file or an xml file. I see plenty of information about reading
data from these kinds of files (openRawResource(id) etc.) but very
little about writing to them.

Could anyone point me in the direction of a tutorial or some sample
code/material that includes saving to either an xml or raw file?

Any help is greatly appreciated..

Thanks,

Redders.
