I can't say it any better than the two links below.

1. Improving FTP/OPP throughput with BlueZ on Android-Froyo

Hi,
I am seeing low FTP/OPP throughput with BlueZ on android froyo. Its
about 800Kbps.
Whats the maximum that is achievable on Froyo and GB?
How to improve it..?
Appreciate if anyone can share some thoughts on this.

Thanks,
Rk.

2. How to alpha mask a color fill?

I'm given a large number of grayscale images in the form of byte arrays. I
want to use the values in each image as an alpha mask for drawing a solid
color in a Canvas. The images are fixed but the color changes. I can create
Bitmap objects for each image/color combination, but that seems terribly
inefficient. What would be a good way to approach this problem, in terms of
both memory and speed? (I need to render each image/color combo many times.)
I'd prefer a solution that works on SDK 1.5 and up.
