 Hi, All:

Anybody know how to enable the GPS setting automatic? Seems the
"Toggle Settings" app can handle it, but I didn't find out any
solutions for it yet.

Please help me if you have time.

Best regards,
Louis.

You can't do that with the 1.5 SDK. Feel free to search the forum for
the (many) threads on the subject.

How to enable the GPS setting automatic

 By the way, I just found next in android codes

public class SecuritySettings
    ...
    private void setProviders(String providers) {
        // Update the system setting LOCATION_PROVIDERS_ALLOWED
        Settings.System.putString(getContentResolver(),
                Settings.System.LOCATION_PROVIDERS_ALLOWED,
providers);
        if (Config.LOGV) {
            Log.v("Location Accuracy", "Setting
LOCATION_PROVIDERS_ALLOWED = " + providers);
        }
        // Inform the location manager about the changes
        mLocationManager.updateProviders();
    }

....

But seems the "mLocationManager.updateProviders();" didn't public in
SDK yet, any suggestions for it?

Best regards,
Louis.

1. XMLHttpRequest Handling

Hi All,

I would like to know how do I handle XMLHttpRequest from javascript.

I have a WebView control in which I load the html file.
This html file onload calls a javascript function onLoad().
This onLoad() calls a javascipt function in test.js file named getImage
();
This getImage() in javascript file has a xmlhttprequest call.

Both the test.html and test.js file are in the asset dir of the app.

Please let me know any configuration I have to make to give a AJAX
call.

The same files if i host on a server and call in the webview Contol it
will call the ajax request and load the image.

waiting for suggestions.
Thanks in Advance.

2. buggy Android phone (Tmobile g1)

I have some issues with the android email client.
1) the SSL setup is not intuitive. I cannot get my client to accept
my server's self signed cert unless I select "SSL when available" for
the SSL security option. Otherwise I get "Not a trusted Certificate"
error. I set my security setting as "SSL when available" but that
makes me queezy. I would like a way that I can simply import my
certificate into the trusted keystore.

2) For some reason, I cannot delete email messages from my IMAP mail
server. When I delete them in the android email client it copies the
message to a local trash directory and then removes it from the
message list. It does *NOT* delete the message from my inbox. So if
I log in via a real email client (like thunderbird), then the email
is still sitting there in my inbox. This is not expected behavoir and
is most definitely a bug.

3) Is there a bulk delete function in the mail client?

4) How do I tell my gmail client to stop notifying me of new mail? I
mostly use the gmail account for IM, google docs etc. There is
nothing coming to my gmail account that I am interested in. I
shouldn't have to receive those notifications constantly.

5) Why are there 2 trash folders? I have an Inbox.Trash and a regular
Trash folder in the IMAP client. What is the difference?

6) does my g1 login to google via ssl? Is there a way to make sure I
do?

7) Does anyone know of any apps being developed that transcript your
voicemail messages into text? I would love to not have to call my
voicemail box in order to get my messages.
