 I have an arm based platform running android.
There is a linux c sample application that captures from the camera
and dumps on the screen (i.e. hardware overlay).

Now when I run this application over an android application;
android refreshes the overlay area too.

Trying out different layouts for the overlay didnt help.

How do I avoid this refresh? (how to support hardware overlay)

1. R cannot be resolved!

Hi,
I am new to Android. I have opened the notepad tutorial and it worked
very fine with Eclipse 3.4.0 under Windows XP but when I tried to open
the Snake sample, it gave me an error " R cannot be resolved" I have
noticed that there is no R.java in the project. What is I did wrong?
Any help will be appreciated.
Many thanks

2. Not Able to get self presence and self custom message

Hi All,

I was trying to get my self custom message and self presence but i get
custom message as null and presence as 2(do not disturb).
try{

                        mSelfPresence = mGTalkSession.getPresence();
                        Log.i(LOG_TAG, "Custom messgae:"+
mSelfPresence.getCustomStatus());
                        int  id =       mSelfPresence.getStatus();
                        Log.e(LOG_TAG, "status:" + id);

} catch (DeadObjectException ex) {
                                Log.e(LOG_TAG, "caught " + ex);
                        }
As i have setup some custom message and am online(5) on my desktop
gtalk client. But couldnt get that through android client.

Is there any other way to get custom message and self presence.

Also I could see some exceptions related to presence while the
emulator boots up. Is this because of this reason.
