 I'm a n00b having trouble getting the Android 2.0 SDK running on
Karmic Koala. I'm attempting to follow these:
   http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html #quickstart
directions, however when I try to add SDK components as directed from
this link:
   http://developer.android.com/sdk/adding-components.html
I can't refresh the available packages. I get a "Failed to fetch
URL: HTTPS ERROR" whether or not I select "Force https://..." in the
settings tab.

Suggestions?

Thanks,
brian

1. Strided buffer support in Camera preview callback

Hi,

Does the Google API for Camera preview callback support passing stride-d
buffer (Width of the buffer is larger than the image data present in the
buffer) from the Camera Service level?

I see the below signature that applications are provided to access the
preview data from Camera.

Is it possible to communicate the stride somehow to the applications so that
applications can skip the padding bytes at the end of every line?

        public void onPreviewFrame(byte[] data,
                                   android.hardware.Camera camera) {

Thanks,
Sundar

2. Image effectsef

You've left this as a particularly broad question.

Try finding a way of getting access to the pixel values and then ad
the text on type by changing pixels values to that of the text.

OR you could try and get access to the Bitmaps Canvas and then in the
onDraw part of the canvas add any drawables or text there, however
I've not had much experience with Canvas's or Bitmaps, these are just
suggestions you can look into.
