 I'm a beginner with android, so i'm following all the steps in the dev
giude and so on.
At the moment,
 I downloaded the sdk 1.5,
 installed ADT plug-in for eclipse,
got the source code (repo sync),

In the future I'd like to make android running on the desktop i'm
using (x86,
ubuntu 8.10), so i modified the "buildspec.mk" file:

# Uncomment this if you want the simulator, otherwise, build for arm
ifndef TARGET_SIMULATOR
TARGET_SIMULATOR:=true
endif

# Set this to debug or release if you care. Otherwise, it defaults to
# release for arm and debug for the simulator.
ifndef TARGET_BUILD_TYPE
#TARGET_BUILD_TYPE:=release
TARGET_BUILD_TYPE:=debug
endif

# Uncomment this if you want the host tools built in debug mode.
Otherwise
# it defaults to release.
ifndef HOST_BUILD_TYPE
HOST_BUILD_TYPE:=debug
endif

# Choose a product to build for. Look in the products directory for
ones
# that work.
ifndef TARGET_PRODUCT
TARGET_PRODUCT:=generic
endif

and now i did a "make"
I should obtain a build...but what can i do with it? I mean, how can I
launch it or use an emulator?

thanks a lot

J

1. Problem opening page with javascript pop ups in webview

I am very new to both android webkit and javascript. I have a web page
with 3 links (say A,B,C). When I open that page on my PC
browser(Chrome), and click on the links, A opens in the same browser
window whereas B and C pops up a new window. In my application I am
loading the original URL in a WebView. I have implemented my
WebViewClient and overridden the shouldOverrideUrlLoading. I am
getting the call to shouldOverrideUrlLoading whenever I click on A,
but not getting it when I click on B or C? Can someone help me as to
why this is happeneing?

Thanks

2. Added permission WAKE_LOCK, now problems on Droids

I have an existing app that was working just fine on all phones.
I added the permission WAKE_LOCK so I could control when the app goes
to sleep.
It worked fine on my HTC Hero, so I published the new update. I
immediately started getting emails from Droid users that the app would
not launch anymore on their phones after they udpated. They get "could
not launch requested activity" when the try to start the app, but it
will allow them to run the app once if they run it from the App Store
button.
I removed the permission, and now Droid users can run the app
normally.
Here is my manifest xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<manifest xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
      package="com.krugism.EntitySensor"
      android:versionName="2.8" android:versionCode="12">
    <application android:icon="@drawable/icon"
        android:label="@string/app_name" android:debuggable="false"
                android:permission="android.permission.WAKE_LOCK">
        <activity android:name=".EntitySensor"
                  android:label="@string/app_name"
                  android:screenOrientation="portrait"
                  android:permission="android.permission.WAKE_LOCK">
            <intent-filter>
                <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" />
                <category
android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" />
            </intent-filter>
        </activity>
                <activity android:name=".SettingsPref" android:label="@string/
app_name">
                </activity>
    </application>
        <uses-sdk android:minSdkVersion="3"     />
        <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.WAKE_LOCK" />
</manifest>

Any ideas?
