Micro SD Memory for G1 Recommendations

I am trying to determine what Micro SD Card is best for the G1. I am
confused by the various technology designations ... class 2-6, SD vs
SDHC. Size vs reliability. Sweet spot cost-wise.

I would choose the most reliable/fastest over the largest. I have
searched for this info online, perhaps I just need search word help!

I went to Richie street (kind of like frys but set in a street full of
thousands of electronic shops) in Chennai and asked for a micro sd card.
They gave me a choice between a 4MB sandisk and kingston. I chose kingston
and bought it for Rs.450 ($10).

That's what we have here. No 8MB, no 16MB.. nothing. Either they are not
here or out of stock. Guess sometimes its easier not to have too many
choices :)

take care,

Do you mean GB, or is India further back on the path of technology than
we'd all thought? :).

Al.

Micro SD Memory for G1 Recommendations

 hanks for the feedback ...

For the record, a few months ago I bought an 8 Gig card for a "good
price" in a "bulk package" from some company that sells via Amazon ...
it died unexpectedly ... I thought it was under warranty so I
attempted to get it replaced. Apparently the "bulk packaged" ones are
not under warranty so the price was not so good after all.

For some wacky reason yesterday I bought two Kingston 8 Gig class 4
cards in midtown Manhattan at a "Going Out of Business" sale from a
small electronics store. (If you are not from NYC never do this
unless you are willing to haggle or don't mind being ripped off).
Thing is that I knew the price was OKish and it they were in the
original blister pack. If you saw the movie Zohan you have an idea of
what the transaction was like.

Small electronics stores in NYC are the worst. They are always trying to rip
you off and you have to haggle just to get it down to a price that is fair. And
if the thing breaks good luck trying to return it. Morale is don't buy in small
electronic stores in NYC.

eah, I bought a webcam from a small electronics store in NYC, right
off of Canal St (right there I should have known), and it was a piece
of junk. the list price was $70, but when I was gonna walk away, the
guy knocked it to $50. I was suckered, I bought it, thing wasn't worth
$10, its max resolution was 320x240 and you couldn't make out the
picture.

So I moved out of the city.

1. How to get more than one result from Voice Recognition?

I see there is a parameter called EXTRA_MAX_RESULTS to limit the
number of results you get back from the Recognizer, but I never get
more than one anyway. Is there some way to get multiple closest
matches back?

2. Error in Activity Lifecycle diagram? When to open/close SQLite db?

Hi,

Looking at the activity lifecycle diagram here
http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/fundamentals.html#actlife

I wonder, shouldn't onDestroy also be called if the process is killed
(the path on the left braching off from onPause - "Other Application
needs memory")?

Specifically I wonder when to open and close a SQLite database? Would
onCreate and onDestroy be the right place, or should it rather be
onResume and onPause?

Thanks!
