How do email notifications work for POP3 and IMAP accounts on the G1 phone?

If I set up the supplied email client on the G1 phone for a POP3 or
IMAP account, can I configure it to periodically check the mail server
for new mail (in the background)? If so, will the system display some
sort of notification message telling me that I have new mail?

I ask this because I don't have a G1 phone yet (I'm currently using
the emulator for app development), and I'm checking to see if I can
dump my Moto-Q phone (WM5 OS) and effectively use a G1 phone for my
daily activities. Your comments are appreciated.

Hi All,

The Audio file recordered from emulator using MediaRecorder is totally
different from what I recorded from phone. If I replay the audil file
recorded from phone, it is slower than I speak.

Does anyone has same experience?

2. Need help monetizing your Android Apps?

Hi guys -
We are developing an ad server that makes it easy for Android app developers
to monetize. It supports the 320x50 banners and the ad networks that you
might be working with already but also adds interstitial support, frequency
caps and other targeting features. We are looking for some developers who'd
be interested in working with us to test the system over the next week or

Currently we are in private beta but if you'd like to integrate shortly, our
developer relations team can help you with best practices for optimizing
your revenue. So far, implementations have taken about 30-45 minutes total
and yielded healthy increases in monetization, in some cases 2x.

Send me a note if you are interested,
