 Hi,

I have noticed in the http://android.brightstarcorp.com/ site that the
ADP1 has not been available to be purchased by developers for the last
few weeks -

'Thank you for your interest in the Android Dev Phone 1.
Unfortunately, we are temporarily out of stock but we estimate
availability to resume on March 4. We apologize for any inconvenience
but please check back then to make your purchase '

Would Google please comment on -

* the future availability of the ADP1

* will future ADP1 phones come with the firmware 1.1 release already
installed ?

* will future ( and current - once firmware upgraded ) ADP1 phones
have access to paid applications in the Android Market ?

Regards

Did you even read the text that you quoted? It says *TEMPORARILY* out
of stock and **EXPECTED* AVAILABILITY MARCH 4*.

Looks like their estimate was accurate enough, they seem to be in
stock now:

The out of stock message was removed about 20 minutes ago and at least
one happy order went through. I wish you the same luck.

Their customer service is pretty bad, though. I ordered my phone
early last week. They charged my credit card, and I have the
confirmation page with the order number. Other than that, nothing.
No shipping notification, no back-order notice, nada. I've e-mailed
andr...@brightstarcorp.com inquiring about my order status - stony
silence. So I have no idea if I've got an ADP1 on the way or not.

It's a good thing they're not selling to the general public this
way...

I second that -- I'm pretty much stuck on an ongoing project without a
dev phone, which I expected to be available.
Google, please speak up

thanks,
Peter

1. Is network slower when screen is blacked out?

Are you using wifi? I think wifi turns off after a while unless you're
holding a wifi wakelock. So it might be you're downloading over wifi
when the screen is on, but over 3G when the screen is off.

Sorry, no.
