 Doesn't sound possible to start with......
How does the G1 communicate with Canon IXUS when the only thing the
canon can do over USB is to act as a card reader? it can even write to
the SD card....;/
(I have a Canon IXUS as well..)

Cheers

 Nick, you need the Android sdk to support USB host functions, which is
what this enhancement calls for:
 http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=738

Best you can do right now is star the enhancement above to give it
weight on the roadmap.

Could the G1 be used as a monitor/wired remote control for a digital camera?

 Hi

Many modern digital cameras use IR port for remote shooting. I dont
have G1 right now, so question: does it (G1) has IR port? If so then I
am eager to try my future G1 as remote control for my Pentax K20D.

Um... the G1 has an IR port? Not the last time I checked.

 So the G1 doesn't have a infrared port... i dont believe it would be
available as external optional device..

Eventually you should take a look at:

 http://gphoto.sourceforge.net/

These guys seem to have a remote control for over 1000 cameras and
they use linux, so a port should be possible (if android isn't too
much away of the needed core functions ;-) )

Good luck and give us an update if it works ;-)

1. Fwd: List onItemSelectedListener not working

Yes you are right that's what i did.

You can refer following snippet:

ListView mainCategoryList;

mainCatrgoryList.setAdapter(mainCategoryAdapter);

mainCategoryList.setOnItemSelectedListener(new OnItemSelectedListener()
        {

            @Override
            public void onItemSelected(AdapterView<?> arg0, View view, int
arg2, long arg3)
            {

view.setBackgroundResource(R.drawable.category_list_item_focus_bg);

            }

            @Override
            public void onNothingSelected(AdapterView<?> arg0)
            {
                // TODO Auto-generated method stub

            }
        });

 mainCategoryList.setSelection(0);

Let me know, if you need anything more.

I even tried to put these few line of code in ApiDemo but it didn't even
work there.

2. Force Update Ui in middle of a function

I have a function as follow

     void fun(){
        blah
        blah
      TextView.setText("Hello World");
      blah
      blah
}

the change in TextView gets reflected when function execution has
finished but i want to reflect changes immediately.Is there any way ?
i have tried Thread and Looper.prepare but no use....
