why is my app asking to access phone calls and storage?

For command-line builds, try modifying the target= value in
default.properties. I do not know the equivalent in Eclipse.

1. Trigger garbage collector to kill paused/stopped applications

Hello,

Is there a way to trigger the garbage collector to kill killable apps
(apps which have executed onPause, onStop, onDestroy) to check onPause/
onResume/onStart/onStop, etc. have to be correctly implemented?

For me I have a lot of memory left on my device so if I execute
another application onPause and onStop will be executed but the memory
for the old application will still be left in memory. I want the
application to be killed so I can see if my onPause/onResume, etc. are
correctly implemented.

I tried to do an application that would allocate a lot of memory but
since there is a limit of 16 mb per application it didn't work.

I also wonder where, in the android source code, the garbage collector
does these operations?

2. change size of one View according to change of another one

Hello, Everyone!

I have two Button-like Views that can change its size at runtime, by
setting new text to them with setText.
By that, height of one button might change and become bigger. So, I
need to resize second Button at that moment.
My objective is to make both View have the same height, that is
maximum height of them.

I am trying to Override onSizeChanged() method of this two Views:

public class MyButton extends Button {
        private MyButton neighbouringButton;

                this.neighbouringButton = neighbouringButton;
        }

        @Override
        protected void onSizeChanged(int w, int h, int oldw, int oldh) {

                        if (h > oldh && h > nh)
                                neighbouringButton.setHeight(h);

I update text of my buttons at least two times. This code gives very
weird effect: if any View need to change it doesn't let it become
bigger, so text becomes croped.

I use this MyButtons with xml layout, inside LinearLayout:

Do I solve this problem by wrong means? Where am I wrong and how
should I solve this problem correctly?
