 Hello!
I'm trying to guess what are the files that contain the low level code
of the boot.img/recovery.img images. I tried modifying the .S files in
the sub folders of "/bootable/bootloader/legacy/", but after a re-
compilation the boot image are exactly the same as before my edits to
the file(s) (Checked with shasum before & after the re-compilation).
Also, I'm trying to avoid a "make clean", because a full compilation
takes me about 3.5 hours :(

Thank you very much!

 kR105,

boot.img = boot header + Linux kernel + ramdisk/rootfs
system.img = Android user space applications and libraries

Oh *thank you*!.. I was confused with the "boot" word.

BTW, do you know for what are used the files *.S in the "bootable" folder?

 No idea.
I find only init.S, maybe it's the initialize before bootloader starts

1. binding images from assets to a simpleCursorAdapter

Hello,

I was poking around in the documentation for the simpleCursorAdapter
and I read that if the simpleCursorAdapter doesn't identify your
images as resources it will assume they are URIs. My question is how
do i retrieve the URI for an image placed into the asset folder of my
application?

I have no idea how this pertains to assets baked into your APK. In
theory, you should be able to get a Uri from the MediaStore, assuming
the image has been indexed, though I haven't played with the MediaStore
provider as yet.

If not, use OI File Manager or something to allow the user to pick an
image, and store the file:/// Uri to the SD card in the database.

Then, use that Uri as needed. This may involve subclassing
SimpleCursorAdapter and overriding setViewImage(), or using a ViewBinder.
