 Hi guys,
I am a newbie in android UI programming.
I want to create a custom SurfaceView for my own renderer.
And this view has a transparent/translucent effect with background.
I follow api demo sample code to create
TranslucentGLSurfaceViewActivity
and TranslucentGLSurfaceView, but render result is blank screen.

Could someone give an advise to solve this problem?

How can I use transparent or translucent view effect?

 Thank you for your answer Raphael.
Yes, it is.
I do my test and experiment on 1.5 emulator.
That's mean if I want to see transparent/translucent effect,
I need to run my test application on G1?
Is there any other way to test our SurfaceView with transparent
or translucent effect?
Thanks again.

Alex

1. Multipart Messages - Is there an example how to get them work now. (Uploading to a web API)

Note that this has been removed because it was removed from the Apache
HttpClient library that we're bundling. What you want to do is get
Mime4j ( http://james.apache.org/mime4j/index.html ) and HttpMime
( http://hc.apache.org/httpcomponents-client/httpmime/index.html ) and
include these libraries in your Android project. From there, the usage
of multipart requests is pretty intuitive.

2. Simple button callback

Hello,

I am trying to create a very simple program that will change the text
of a label object when I click a button. I have created the button
and the label using the XML file, but now I have no idea how I can
write the callback when the user presses the button. I tried reading
the help file that's in the developer documentation (http://
code.google.com/android/devel/ui/notifications.html) but I found it to
be very unhelpful. Can someone help me out here?

My main code looks like this:

__________________________________
package com.xandem.gossamer;

import android.app.Activity;
import android.os.Bundle;

public class gossamer extends Activity {
    /** Called when the activity is first created. */
    @Override
    public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
        super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
        setContentView(R.layout.main);

    }
};
__________________________________

and my XML file is this:

__________________________________
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/
android"
    android:orientation="vertical"
    android:layout_width="fill_parent"
    android:layout_height="fill_parent"
    >

    <Button id="@+id/gossamerBut"
        android:layout_width="fill_parent"
        android:layout_height="wrap_content"
        android:text="@string/buttonText"
        android:gravity="center"
        android:layout_margin="20px"
        android:textSize="15pt"
    />
    <TextView
            android:layout_width="fill_parent"
            android:layout_height="fill_parent"
            android:text="@string/defaultAnswer"
            android:gravity="center"
            android:layout_margin="20px"
    />

</LinearLayout>
