Why? I visited a Google Technology Usergroup meeting where Google
handed out Nexus phones to all visitors, and they were identical to
the one that I had ordered from their online store.

Is there a reason to why you expect it to be different from the one
that you can order?

I'd be suprised if it didn't have some kind of "Device Seeding"
inscription on the back of the Nexus, but apart from that it's in
their interest to make it no different to the device the paying public
can buy.

Google has special developer versions of some phones.

I have the ADP1, and it's got a cool print on the back of the case.
Granted, that was advertised as a developer phone, and pictures and
information on the web showed it was different, but I wondered if
developers would get something special again.

I only ask because I bought a Nexus One on eBay hours before I got the
email from Google about the free phone. If the one from Google is
different, I'll sell the one I have here, still in the box, and wait
for the one from Google. But if they're the same, I might as well open
this one, and sell the one from Google when I get it.

Waiting is not easy. :)

1. When will there be an updated firmware version of Android for the LG GT540 (Optimus)?

Can someone please tell me when there will be an updated firmware version of Android for the LG GT540 (Optimus) (1.6 -> 2.x)?
Ask your mobile carrier. Lacking that, ask LG.
I bought my phone separately from my carrier contract, so they are unlikely to be of any help. I have tried to contact LG, but their website offers no info on Android updates for their phones, and a tech support inquiry (via online form) remains unanswered after two weeks. That is why I am asking here; in the hope that the "knowledgeable-ones" hang out here... -- Regards, Peter Lairo The browser you can trust: www.Firefox.com Reclaim Your Inbox: www.GetThunderbird.com Islam: http://www.jihadwatch.org/islam101/ Israel: http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/myths2/ Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster: http://www.venganza.org/ Anthropogenic Global Warming skepsis: http://tinyurl.com/AGW-Skepsis --

2. Start ACTION_CALL activity from service on Motorola Milestone

Position the cursor of your editor at the end of the line containing
you setFlags() call. Press the backspace key enough times to eliminate
all characters on that line. Save the file. Recompile, and test the
modified application.

Most startActivity() calls do not need setFlags(). Hence, I am
suggesting that perhaps the flag you are presently setting is not
merely "not needed" but also may be interfering with what you are
trying to accomplish.
