 Hi,
such as the name of the topic says, I am developping an application
based on speech recognition. I intend to develop the recognition part.
Since it requires quite a lot of operations, I was wondering wether an
Android Phone, such as the Dev Phone 1, could handle it. So could I
develop such an application directly on the phone, or should I use a
server to take care of the recognition ?

1. Widget on Top

I'm banging my head on the wall. I have a small temperature/date/time
widget. When I touch the widget it changes from current temp to
current date to current time, and back. I would like to find a way to
display my widget always on top of all applications?

Is this possible? I've tried continually changing focus to my widget
app but doesn't seem to work (ie. just instantaneously goes away
"behind" the current app). Any ideas on accomplishing this? Are
there any apps out there that are displaying their widget or info
button over the top of all apps?????

Thanks for any help!!!!

2. How does the HTC Battery Widget animate?

I installed the HTC Battery widget (downloaded from the Android
Market) and notice that while the battery is being charged, there is a
visually effective animation that continuously runs.

I always though such animations in widgets were not supported in the
SDK.

How is this technically possible?
