Is it possible to get the city name(I mean the city where the phone is
in at the current time)?

I need it as a parameter for google weather API, like this:

 http://www.google.com/ig/api?weather=city_name ,country_name

I tried browsing the classes in "android.location" package but have
yet to find a method to get the 'exact city name' and country name
needed for google weather API.

Thank you in advance. =)

1. Activate GPS service

Hey list!

I have written an android app that needs the GPS capabilities of the phone.
If GPS is activated everything works fine, but if it is not i get an error.

So my question: Is it possible to write code that is activating GPS on
the phone?
I found a forum post that it is not possible because of security
reasons. Is this true?

Is it possible that i open the phones settings screen for gps so the
user can activate GPS from within my application?

Thanks in advance,
Anton

2. Low Memory: No more background processes.

Hi,

I am working on openGles with seven images displayed on the screen. I
am translating the position of these seven images on a button click so
it is drawing every time it seems.
But, after sometime all the images are getting disappeared then I've
checked in the logcat
I found this :ctivityManager(52): Low Memory: No more background
processes.

Could someone please post the solution to this problem?

Thanks,
Bala
