 I'm looking to take up android developement as a hobby but wasn't sure
where to get started. I plan on spending a little time a night trying
to learn the programming needed and get familiar with the SDK once I'm
up to speed but wasn't sure where to start. Any guidance would be
appreciated. Thanks

Do you know Java? If not, that's priority #1. If you do, a book on Android
and the online documentation and samples are probably a good place to start.

I found a way how to do it, but it's a bit slow, can this be done more

TextView link = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.link);
link.setText(Html.fromHtml("<a href=\"http://www.google.com\">google</
