 i,
Within a minute, the system tries to suspend itself. I have
enabled CPU suspend support in the kernel. However, the system tries
to suspend itself and does not succeed, and keeps flickering the
screen as it tires to go into suspend mode.

How can I fix this?

request_suspend_state: sleep (0->3) at 136781494130 (2000-01-01

Freezing remaining freezable tasks ... (elapsed 0.00 seconds) done.
Suspending console(s) (use no_console_suspend to debug)

wakeup wake lock: mmc_delayed_work
PM: resume devices took 0.140 seconds

ou also need to enable wake lock. Otherwise, your pm will not work
correct.

 Hi,
I have enabled wake-lock. I would like the system to go to
suspend more after a while. If you look at the error, it says, PM cpu
suspect failed. I have enabled suspend support in the kernel. What
should I do to make it work?

Best regards,

Elvis

power management cpu suspend not working - android-2.6.29 port to overo

by Elvis Dowson » Tue, 28 Apr 2009 17:02:34 GMT

 Hi,
Here is a list of messages that I get, the system is unable to
go to standby mode, and it keeps coming back on, with the screen
flashing on and off every second. If I touch the screen, the
flickering stops. I have only enable fb suspend, and not console
suspend. This is because when i run menuconfig i can only choose
either console suspend of the sysfs interface for the framebuffer
suspend to work.

Is the problem due to the mmc card or something? A little lower down
below, there is another error from the pm for cpu suspend.

Here are the log messages:

Suspending console(s) (use no_console_suspend to debug)
MMC: killing requests for dead queue
PM: suspend devices took 0.343 seconds
pm_noirq_op(): platform_pm_suspend_noirq+0x0/0x5c returns -11
PM: Device power.0 failed to suspend late: error -11
PM: Some devices failed to power down
wakeup wake lock: mmc_delayed_work
PM: resume devices took 0.140 seconds

Class driver suspend failed for cpu0

Best regards,

Elvis

1. Customized Installation in Android

Hi!

Is it possible to control the package installation process
in Android?

The problem is that I'm asked to install and uninstall packages
without using the default android installer.
I need to control the entire process within my application.

I already have my application in the /system/app/ folder,
so it might have the INSTALL_PACKAGE and DELETE_PACKAGES permission
(that was what I read).

I also have been looking to the source code of the installer,
but can't find a way to start installing or uninstalling
a package on my own.

Could this be done?

Thank you all

2. Book for a newbie

Having reviewed this group on the subject of best book for newbies, I
have a couple questions:

1) As "Begining Android 2" is not out in the UK until Feb would
reading "Begining Android" put me at a disadvantage or is there not
much difference between the books (I cant hold out until feb to get
started!).

2) Is "The Busy Coder's Guide to Android Development" effectively the
same as "Begining Android 2"? - If so I understand the advantages of
purchasing this eBook (3 books for price of one), however I tend to
prefer hardcopy.

3) Would it be fair to say that reading "Begining Android" could be
followed by "Hello Android" if you want to understand the UI system
better and get the experience of how to use Android to work on a mini
game project?

Thanks,
