 Hi , i'm trying to send properly a SMS aka get notified when the sms
is not send.

here is what the doc says :

sentIntent if not NULL this PendingIntent is broadcast when the
message is sucessfully sent, or failed. The result code will be
Activity.RESULT_OK for success, or one of these errors:
RESULT_ERROR_GENERIC_FAILURE RESULT_ERROR_RADIO_OFF
RESULT_ERROR_NULL_PDU. The per-application based SMS control checks
sentIntent. If sentIntent is NULL the caller will be checked against
all unknown applicaitons, which cause smaller number of SMS to be sent
in checking period.

What i would like to know is what is how to get the result code.
where is this information in the broadcasted intent ?

Regards

Chris

1. How to tell if we were force killed for memory, in onCreate()?

Ok, yes this is what I'm seeing. Looks like:

  MyActivity: startIntent(maps);
  .. logcat says low memory ..
  System maps intent starts up, looks good, user plays with it a bit.
  User now hits back button
  MyActivity: onCreate() gets called, instead of onResume().

on other phones, this works ok, onResume() is called instead of
onCreate() when hitting the back button. I can't see an explicit
message in logcat saying that my activity is being killed after the
low memory message though. I do see this however:

I/ActivityManager(   76): Start proc com.test.myapp for activity
com.test.myapp/.ui.MyActivity: pid=8427 uid=10036 gids={3002, 1005}

For me, it would be good if the app stays in the history stack even
though it was killed - because when the user hits the back button,
wouldn't they be confused if they get taken back to the desktop
instead of my app (which launched them there)?

Thanks

2. sim cards and g1

I just bought a g1 phone and it says that the wireless (as in wifi) signal
that I'm getting is very poor, but I'm connected to it with my laptop. is a
sim card required to do anything more than wirelessly connect to satellites?
