 Hey guys,

recently we (from anddev.org) had a imo pretty nice idea.
A place to quickly share 'Android Code Snippets'. Just a piece of code
with 1 one-line description and a expressive title.

So one can easily help with/find small portions of useful Android
code.

This is the place to share:

 Hello Cezar,

fine, but I think this should be done in a forum with English
language, as olny pretty few understand Brazilian.
Guess if all Android Documentation would have been written in
German :P

 Plusminus,

let's say that at south america, a lot of countries speak portuguese
and specifically in brazil, the great majority does not understand
english language.

Because of that, we are a lusophone community.

Cheers,
Cezar

 Hey Cezar,

I agree with you, in parts. I'm also from Brazil (by the way, nice forum
yours!!! ), but like others dvelopers, i speak english. I think that almost
everybody who develops serious app, and not just hello world, speaks
english. Or, how can they access this stuffs? I also agree with Plusminus
(by the way, also a nice forum) that this kind of forum must be in English,
or, at least, in two languages or two sections (one for english and other
for brazillian who don't speaks english). But it's nice to have a forum in
my natife language!!

regards

Breno

Hi,

In what is sure to be one of a thousand posts on the topic, I suggest
we take a break from talking about Sprint and start judging ADC 2
apps.

I am currently shooting at Marmots...

2. Problem sending special signs through TCP/IP to Android Phone

Hello,

If I try to use the code below to read characters that is sended from
C# to an Android phone I get problem reading specials signs for
example swedish letters like gets abit wierd.

Do anyone have some tips for me that I can change here to enable to
get special signs? ( The code below works on a normal java application
but not on android platform) (The text I send is sended from C# to
Android JAVA.).

If someone have any pointers to give me I would be happy.

    try {
      ServerSocket ss = new ServerSocket(1234);
      Socket test = ss.accept();
      InputStream is = test.getInputStream();
      DataInputStream dis = new DataInputStream(is);
      char c = dis.readChar();
      while (c != -1) {
        System.out.print("Read char = " + c);
        c = dis.readChar();
      }
      System.out.print("Read char = " + c);
    } catch (IOException e) {
      // TODO Auto-generated catch block
      e.printStackTrace();
    }
